The Wenger Patagonian Expedition Race is an annual expedition race in the southern region of the world, held in 2011 for the ninth time. In the event fighting for up to 15 international teams on mountain bikes, in kayaks and on foot through plains, mountains, glaciers, forests, wetlands, rivers, lakes and canals in the Chilean Patagonia in the constantly changing weather conditions. 2011, the route including by the continental ice field in Patagonia. The exact course will be announced by the organizers until shortly before the race. The existing routes led among others by the National Park Torres del Paine, the Strait of Magellan, Tierra del Fuego, the Darwin Range, and the Beagle Channel.
The aim of the Patagonian Expedition Race Wenger is to bring to the world the raw beauty and ecological importance of the pristine Chilean Patagonia in mind to that greater focus in the spotlight and protect. The organizers are committed to the sustainable development of the area and fight against the exploitation of natural resources through unsustainable industries.
The Wenger Patagonian Expedition Race is a non-commercial event, which follows the principles of “Leave No Trace”. All are on the cover the organizational costs also obtained funds used to promote the sustainable development of Patagonia.
